Riya Vaidya is an Indian artist, filmmaker and production designer, and a graduate of the AFI Conservatory’s Production Design program. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design and designed installations for the VH1 Supersonic music festival in 2019.
She started her creative career as a freelance Graphic Designer for an alternative healthcare startup and pivoted to the film & television industry. She worked as a Costume Styling assistant on a web series & commercial in Bangalore before moving to Los Angeles. She has worked as a Production Designer and Art Director on numerous short films, and in other Art Department positions including Set Decorator, Set Dresser, Prop Master, Set Construction, and Special Effects.
Riya loves exploring the depths of different facets and contradictions of human emotion through channels of art and storytelling, and working with a variety of genres and people. She loves to experiment, learn, and have fun! Outside of film, she has a deep love for music, dance, nature, baking and travel. Her passion lies in production design & art direction for films, music videos, and commercials.
