Riya Vaidya is an Indian artist, filmmaker and production designer, and an alum of the AFI Conservatory’s Production Design program. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design and designed installations for VH1 Supersonic music festival in 2019.
She started off as a Graphic Designer for an alternative healthcare startup, and pivoted to film, in the Costume & Styling department on a web series & commercial in Bangalore. Since then, she's been a Production Designer and Art Director on numerous productions in Los Angeles, and worked in other Art Department positions including Set Decorator, Set Dresser, Prop Master, Set Construction, and Special Effects.
Riya loves exploring the depths of different facets and contradictions of human emotion through channels of art and storytelling, and working with a variety of genres and people. She loves to experiment, learn, and have fun! Outside of film, she has a deep love for music, dance, nature, baking and travel. Her passion lies in production design & art direction for films, music videos, and commercials.
